Musicians ... The Power of Blogging

Posted by Denise Johnson (DJladydrummer) on September 24, 2010 at 1:09 AM

I recently started blogging on a number of sites such as WordPress, Blogger, on my social networking site DirectMatches and more.  I didn't realize that people are interested in information.   With technology changing and expanding at a rapid rate, you can find information about ANYTHING on the internet.  "How To" articles have become very popular, and people will pay you for valuable information.  As a musician...what is valuable to YOU ???   Do you want to learn more about the music business ?  Would you like to know how to get better gigs ??  How Do you Market your CD's so that you're not just selling them out the back of your car !!!    Chances are if you have questions....so do others.

Do some research on something that you're passionate about.    If you're not a good writer, hire someone who is.    Write about whatever you like and start building a following.   People will read what you have to say and will generally learn to TRUST YOU. At that point start if you wish..to market products, whether it be your CD's, TeeShirts, etc.

Solving problems for people will always cause people to follow you.  If they see you making money, and they need extra money, share information on how they can do it too.   Give them insite and information and you will have friends for life.  If you cause anyone to prosper or grow I guarantee you will see the fruits of your labor.

Its time for us musicians to SHARE what we've experienced so that the NEWBIE dosen't continue to struggle like we did.   Share how to get good contacts, how to tour, how to make money while your touring, etc.   If someone had helped me with that valuable information, I would have experienced far more than I did.

I guarantee if you write about something YOU love, and start preparing your E-Book or a lesson video,  you will make money in different ways while giving back and helping others.    Start now...and give of your valuable information through Blogging.

Rhythm Always

Denise
